How To Remove Stains From Teeth Expert Advice

Teeth stains are really only cosmetic and happen over time especially if you don't brush your teeth after a meal or a soda. Coffee, tea and tobacco are also the cause for the yellowing of the teeth.
Since your tooth enamel is very fragile when you are attempting to whiten your teeth yourself, you should be very cautious especially so as not to wear down and damage the enamel.
There are home solutions and over the counter remedies for stained teeth, should you want to brighten your smile yourself.
Here are some tips to assist you in removing teeth stains at home using products in your kitchen cabinet and refrigerator:
o Baking Soda - Brushing your teeth using baking soda and water may help whiten your teeth.
o Salt - Using a salt and water solution, carefully brush your teeth once or twice a day but do not overdo it since salt has an abrasive effect on the enamel.
o Hydrogen Peroxide - With a Q-tip carefully put a dab of hydrogen peroxide on each tooth. Avoid the sensitive gum area to prevent irritation.
o An Orange Peel - Use the white part of the orange peel and gently rub the white part back and forth against your teeth.
o Strawberries - Eating strawberries can whiten teeth since the pulp supposedly has a natural whitening effect.
o Vinegar - Water and vinegar together can work as a natural mouthwash and be effective in whitening slightly stained teeth.
Going to the dentist to remove the stains from your teeth can be quite expensive but it may be one of the only solutions if you have tried everything else, including some of the natural methods.
So if you are really concerned about the color of your teeth and want to remove the stains you have a couple options, other than visiting your dentist, some of these methods are also offered in teeth-whitening salons and malls.
Two of them are discussed below:
1. Using "Blue-Light" Technology - A combination of blue-light technology and hydrogen peroxide (a bleaching agent) for about an hour has a dramatic effect on stained teeth. The procedure takes an hour and it should last a couple years.
2. Veneers - Dental veneers which are made from thin layers of porcelain are applied to the surface of the teeth by a dentist to make sure they fit properly. This method is one of the most expensive but one of the most effective ways of removing teeth stains.
